Role Responsibilities
The Engineering Technician / Facilities Assessor will support a U.S. military housing structural assessment project by conducting detailed visual inspections of family housing units across Okinawa. Responsibilities include documenting observable deficiencies such as spalling, cracking, moisture intrusion, or other visible deterioration of roofs, ceilings, walls, interior finishes, and exterior building components.
The technician will collect photographic and written data, complete standardized assessment forms, and ensure all findings are submitted accurately and promptly for quality control and reporting. Work will be performed in both occupied and vacant units, with coordination through housing office liaisons.
Technicians must follow established safety procedures, wear proper PPE, and communicate professionally with residents and team members.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior facilities assessment or construction inspection experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with digital field data collection (forms, photography).
- Ability to work on ladders, in attics, and under eaves.
- U.S. base access preferred or ability to pass background screening.
