Site Support Specialist, Camp Foster
Provides on-site support for university classes at Camp Foster, including classroom setup, live streaming equipment management, and student assistance.
Specific Responsibilities Include
- Provide on-site presence to support classes offered by all universities on base
- Open and secure building entrances and classrooms
- Responsible for setting up UMGC live streaming (LS) equipment prior to LS classes, serving as first-level troubleshooting technical support and coordination with Technical Support to immediately respond to LS issues, and securing LS equipment at the end of class meetings
- Ensure that building rules are abided by UMGC students and that all UMGC labs/rooms are clean and presentable
- Ensure that quality services are provided to all current and prospective students including being responsive to students and student issues, assisting with basic questions, and directing them to appropriate resources by maintaining general knowledge of UMGC programs to include catalog, class/term dates, and other basic information that students may ask about during breaks in class
- Maintain inventory and operability of live streaming equipment to ensure that assets are clean, updated, and ready for use in class, notifying Logistics Supervisors and/or managers when issues arise
- Provide faculty support after hours to include assisting with accessing computers, printing materials, rosters, classroom setup, etc.
- Assist Program Coordinators to update, distribute, and maintain materials in and around offices and classrooms including posters, flyers, schedules, room assignment postings, banners, etc.
- Report any issues or incidents to management and request resources as appropriate to accomplish assigned duties
- Other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma
- Available for a flexible work schedule including early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic office management, computer, and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or foreign degree equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Advanced computer skills, to include Microsoft Excel and Word

- Supplemental Retirement Plans: Include 403(b), 457(b), and various Roth options. The university does not provide subsidies or matching funds.
- Tuition Remission: CIII employees are eligible immediately for Tuition Remission at UMGC or at University of Maryland College Park. Spouses and dependent children are eligible for undergraduate tuition remission after two years of service. Note: For part-time employees (at least 50 percent of the time), tuition remission benefits are prorated.
- Moving Allowance: May be available based on terms, conditions, and agreements of the position.

Local applicants with individual logistical support (ILS) only. Applicants must already have and be able to maintain ILS, meaning that they must possess a U.S. military ID card and SOFA card from an external source, as this position does not offer ILS.
Hiring Rate
$26,316.00
Additional Compensation
Employees receive the applicable currency adjustment (CAX) subject to monthly DoD COLA Index for the work location, which is subject to change and fluctuation based on market indices.
