Serve as the Secretary to the District Superintendent, providing administrative support to the District Superintendent and the District staff.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Secretary to the District Superintendent, providing administrative support to the District Superintendent and the District staff.
- Perform or coordinate the performance of administrative and clerical duties in support of the District Superintendent's Office (DSO).
- Maintain the Superintendent's and District staff calendar and schedule appointments.
- Receive calls, greet visitors, and direct inquiries to the appropriate member of the school staff.
- Review correspondence and reports for technical accuracy (format, grammar, accuracy, conformance to office policy, completeness, coherence, and consistency).
- Prepare Requests for Personnel Action (RPA) and submit them to the Human Resources Office.
- Perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties, such as making travel arrangements, maintaining personnel timecards, serving as Super Timekeeper, and organizing/compiling information for reports.
- Provide information and guidance on school procedures, reports, and requirements, as well as school programs, policies, procedures, and activities.

Eligibility and Qualifications
- Employment Authority: Applicants must meet one of the specified employment authority categories (e.g., Current Competitive Service DoWEA Civilian Employee, Overseas Family Member Appointment, Military Spouse Preference (MSP) for Overseas Employment, etc.).
- Specialized Experience (GS-7): One year of specialized experience including performing full administrative functions such as screening visitors/telephone calls, time and attendance tracking, maintaining office records, maintaining calendars, reviewing and composing correspondences to ensure accuracy utilizing automated equipment, and making travel arrangements.
- Typing Proficiency: Must be a qualified typist, capable of typing 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
- Time in Grade: If holding a GS position within the last 52 weeks, must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Note: For this grade, qualification must be met using experience alone; no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers, and the availability and level of care will vary by location.

Compensation and Grade
- Salary Range: $38,791 to $56,039 yearly.
- Grade: GS-07 (Duties described reflect the full performance GS-07 level).
- Pay: Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
Overseas Appointment Details
- SOFA Status: This position is subject to SOFA requirements. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are not considered Ordinarily Resident under the applicable Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).
- Tour Length: The initial length of this overseas tour is 24 months.
- Pay Retention: Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations.
